Who We Are

Joanna is a registered social worker with the OCSWSSW and OASW. Joanna primarily works with young to older adults. Joanna has completed training in mindfulness therapy, suicide intervention, grief counselling and has a special interest in assisting individuals with positively changing their mindsets.

During her career, Joanna has worked in diverse settings providing social work or counselling services for a wide range of presenting problems. Some of her more continuous work involves helping clients cope with their anxiety, depression, trauma-related conditions, relationship difficulties, and grief and loss.

Joanna has practiced in community-based mental health agencies and volunteered at various organizations. Joanna is passionate about advocating for the BIPOC community and aims to create avenues for the BIPOC community to have more mental health resources readily available to them.

Joanna’s goal is to provide a collaborative environment that allows you to feel understood, seen, motivated, and to have autonomy over your personal journey. Joanna trusts that with an inviting and safe space, there is room for healing and goal achievement. Using active listening and providing a positive, supportive environment, together we can utilize tools to further develop and enhance your self-management skills, coping mechanisms, and resilience.
